The EU RO MR Group holds a Workshop on 4 September 2024 on the premises of the SMM, Hamburg.

To reflect most stringent requirements of all EU ROs rules, certain test requirements have to be updated.

The following will be added to section 2.b Type testing requirements in each of the subject TRs:

• Type test requirements according to IACS UR E10 for cold test duration 16 hours minimum
• Type test requirements according to IACS UR E10 for dielectric test in the range of  60 <U_n < 65 V.

As of 1 July 2024, Željan Škaro (Senior Machinery Expert), CRS,  took over to chair the EU RO MR Group's Technical Committee. His tenure will be for one year as part of the rotational chair principle of the EU RO MR Group.

Ensure control of installed software versions based on requirements to, and audit of, the manufacturer’s QA system, as well as a uniform specification of software versions in the MR TA certificates

Version 12.0 of the EU RO Framework Document for the Mutual Recognition of Type Approval has now  been released.

The EU RO MR Group informs relevant stakeholder groups and interested parties that the new product evaluation tool (Product Evaluation Process – PEP), which is used to evaluate a product’s eligibility to enter the Mutual Recognition Type Approval scheme has been released.

A Technical Interpretation (TI009) for the Technical Requirement (TR) "Electrical/Electronic Relays" has been published.

A Technical Interpretation (TI007) for the Technical Requirement (TR) “Sensors” has been published.

The fifth supplement to the ‘First Report to the European Commission and the Member States’ containing the Tier 6 Technical Requirements and revised Tier 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Technical Requirements has been published.

Version 7.0 of the EU RO Framework Document for the Mutual Recognition of Type Approval released on 15 March 2017.

Communication requirements, and other elements led to the following internal adjustments: It was acknowledged that the name of the internal governing body of the EU RO MR Group ‘Advisory Board (AB)’ could be misleading. So, the internal governing and managing body was renamed to Steering Committee (SC) from 1 Jan 2017. It is by definition an internal body of EU ROs.

Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), who received EU RO recognition status with COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION (EU) 2016/1327 on 1 August 2016 went through a formalized integration process, resulting in the formal admission to the EU RO MR Group on 17 October 2016 and the participation in the Advisory Board (now Steering Committee) meeting in Tokyo on 9 November 2016.

Updated Technical Requirements for Tiers 1-4 entered into force 1 October 2016.
